Kate Hudson, an outstanding actor known for her performance in the Hollywood movie Almost Famous. The film led to her receiving an Academy Award nomination. Born into a clan of film personalities her character seemed destined for limelight since her childhood. Her mother Goldie Hawn is a well-known film actor, while her father Bill Hudson is a comedian. At a very young age, she loved performing and would take any opportunity to perform on the stage. She was taught how to dance by her parents and also had ballet lessons at the Santa Monica Playhouse when she was a little girl. In 1996, she got the role of a guest in the TV drama Party of Five. The show was a success and she was admitted to New York University, however, Kate Hudson was more interested in seeking a job in show business rather than earning the degree. After acting in some minor films, she landed the role that proved to be a major breakthrough in her career. She was chosen to play Penny Lane in the comedy drama film Almost Famous. The film failed in terms of box office revenue however it was praised by reviews from critics. It established Kate as an actor in the American film industry.
